Medi-Cal Provides Doula Services
Covered doula services are available to all eligible Medi-Cal enrollees
without cost sharing, co-payments, or any additional out-of-pocket costs
​​
Who can access doula care?
All Medi-Cal enrollees who are pregnant or were pregnant within the past year qualify for access to full spectrum doula care. Services can be provided during pregnancy, labor and delivery, miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth and within one year of the end of the pregnancy.

​​What your Medi-Cal benefits entitle you to
Medi-Cal covers your birth preference planning
Up to 8 additional visits that can be provided in any combination of prenatal and postpartum visits
Birth Support when you go into labor (this applies to vaginal or cesarean births, as well as miscarriage/abortion/stillbirth support)
After your delivery two extended three-hour postpartum visits
after the end of a pregnancy
Up to 9 additional postpartum sessions that you can use anytime in the first year after delivery (these 9 additional do require approval from a provider)​
